One of the most unusual types of petrified wood! This specimen from the Nacimiento area of Sandoval County, New Mexico, is fossilized cycad tree, replaced with copper minerals: chalcocite (black), malachite and/or brochantite (green), and azurite (blue). Small azurite crystals can be seen in the close-up photograph.
